I'm far from an expert, but I do know that the tank has to be shielded from the drivers compartment by a fire-proof cover/enclosure and vented outside the vehicle body. Coupes and sedans have back seat bulkheads that when properly modified satisfy the rules. Maybe you can build a box to put the tank in and mount it below floor level with a hinged steel or aluminum cover.

I wish I had better advice for you, but I'm sure someone on Class Racer has already done what you're attempting.

One other thought - I think CompetitionPlus did a few articles on their "cloning" of Gene Fulton's old Nova wagon. Might be some good info there.
