Default Re: Best Corvette SS Of All Time?

Don,

A couple of the IHRA modified Corvettes you probably remember are the ones of Wayne Allison and Dane Pearson. There were others but I can't recall their names.

Allison still runs his I think in IHRA div2 and I heard through the grapevine that Dane Pearson is putting something together.

Doyle Evans of Jacksonville NC has a 66ish Vette with a small cid sbc that runs in modified also.

There were several in super stock both production (ihra) style and formula 4 (nhra) style engines. Butch Williams SS/CA, Johnny Mcguirt SS/FA, Ham Smith ?SS/CA were all big blocks from Heintz racing. Another impressive big block vette was a production engine (I think) 454 that belonged to Wayne Dollyhigh. Wayne had a prosthetic leg and maybe by necessity or not would stage and leave off idle. That car was a front end toting monster that would have to have been one fun ride! Steve McCreary also has a unique early 60's small block. They were several more but due to senility and the coffee has not fully kicked in I can't recall their names at this time. Don Jackson
