Default Re: Tow Vehicles Registered In California

Well..........I had to have my 2004 Dodge Cummins smoged earlier this year. It passed.....however they press the go pedal three times hard. If they see smoke.....you may not pass. Mine has the Edge programmer on it. I was told if it did not throw any codes and no smoke I did not have to remove it.....and I didn't. However I have heard from other smog techs that you MUST remove the aftermarket programmers. At the date of the smog check mine was set to OEM parameters.

Since you are bringing it into California you will need to have it weighed and provide a certified weigh ticket.....and now maybe pass smog before you can get it registered.

My racing partner just received his renewell and has to pass smog.
