It depends on how hard you're trying to leave. We use the A2000 pump and regulator. Maximum pump pressure to the regulator set at 4 psi. Two -8's out of the reg to a 'Y' block, -10 to the carb. Our car leaves hard enough that it would "stall" the fuel in the line and run the bowl dry before recovering. Bad stumble. Now we have enough pressure to the reg to overcome the initial g's and keep the flow moving forward. Mallory never was able to handle the load for our setup.

That's more like 1.5 cents worth...
