Default Re: snowmobiles in D3 pts races

I have no idea why NHRA/IHRA feels the need to add all the "wierd" stuff. Charlie, remember the IHRA race at Pittsburgh in '06, when we were helping little Carl get his car fixed for the semifinals? They had jets, wheelstanders and snowmobiles that night. When the rain came, they were down to the semis or finals in all classes. Without all the BS, the race would have been completed that night, and not a month later. NHRA out west has had Super Eliminator, and/or Top Comp, Sportsman Motorcycle, etc for years. Now every Division has T/S and T/D added to it, and the rest of the classes sometimes suffer because of it. Not to mention less pit space overall. At least with T/Stk and Jr/Stk, it was run with cars already there and not bringing in additional cars to take up space. My personal feeling is run the "odd" stuff at the Opens. If it doesn't compete for a World Championship, it shouldn't be at LODRS and Pro-Am events.
