Default Re: Long term race car storage suggestions?

Do your normal routine, then I'd recomend fogging the engine with a little ATF or Marvel Mystery Oil , and then back off the valves. stuff rags soaked with wd40 in the headers to prevent inside rust. .......Pull the brake pads off, and lightly coat the rotors with WD 40 or light oil, it easily cleans off with brakeclean when you take it out of storage. [and much easier than rust................The fuel system is the trouble area, taking the carb off and draining it is the easy part, drain the race fuel from the system and use pump gas with no alcohol and add a heavy dose of Stabil additive and run thru the system. ...You must keep the hoses from drying out . ....... Take out the fuel cell foam if it's a S/SS car.......I'd also flush the brake fluid after storage to get rid of any moisture contamination.......My old Willys S/G car is stored this way right now. .........Tom
