We still have not started racing. They did just announce we are getting close and it will be an 1/8 mile event today only due to water continuing to bubble up after 1000 feet.
They have drilled holes and vacuumed water for hours today trying to get it all out of the surface. The beautiful sunshine is exacerbating the problem, causing the water to heat up under the ashphalt and boil out of the track.
So 1/8th mile it is. Ugh. Should be calling us to the lanes anytime. Meanwhile Ron Leek is keeping us entertained over the PA reading through the racer's tech cards and making observations regarding occupations, sponsors, etc. He could read the NY Times obituaries and make them fun to listen to! WOW~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!
