Re: Will a gear change help a redlighting problem in my bracket car?
I just went from a 4.56 to a 4.33 in my bracket car has about the same 60's and runs 6.90's in the 1/8th. Mind you i have a glide in mine but even this small change moved my spot on the bulb a noticeable amount. I went from having to hang on the bulb just a bit to being able to just let go like it was the top bulb.
This exactly what I want right here! The courage to rip it without fear as long as I know I HAVE to see it come on.
So does this prove my theroy that changing rear gear ratios will have the same overall effect as changing gear ratios in the trans? Just a lot cheaper Maybe a 4:30 or 4:10 will be enough.
DOORSLAMMER: Its a .550 lift Crower flat tappet Cant remember the other specs right now.Better not have to change my cam to fix this car------ALTHOUGH this motor used to be in a heavier car and I selected this small cam because the other car was a real dog footbraking.
When you say "slow down the carb" You talking a heavier spring?
