Doug Baker
My longtime friend, Doug Baker passed away a few days ago. He was a wonderful person to be around at or way from the track. My son Billy really looked up to him and loved to hear his "Tall tales " from (" back in the day "). They ran in the same class against each other.!! But that didn't matter. It was the man that mattered. Doug was a long-time racer; his latest car was a C/SA 68 Mustang. He will be missed by all that knew him. Doug was 82 years old.
Doug was a U.S. Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Newark Air Force Base Metrology Base. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Patricia Baker; 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and sister, Delores Baker. A Celebration of Life for Douglas E. Baker, 82, of Newark, will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday September 6, 2025, at White Sparrow Events, 675 Heath Rd. Heath, OH 43056. Bill |
Re: Doug Baker
I have not seen Doug in years. When I first met Doug he was racing a Pinto wagon. I believe it is the car that D. Elam races in D-6. Doug could always come up with a good story , or two or three or four…..Prayers for Pat and the family ….GODSPEED !!!!!!
