CO2 10oz refill, 2025 revisited
Today I visited four welding supply stores. None of them will refill the 10-oz CO2 cylinders. In addition, I asked about buying a large cylinder so I can do my own refills. All stores said they only exchange if you already own the cylinder. I asked about buying a new cylinder, and was told $300.00 - $400.00
So my question is, what is the 2025 solution to this dilemma? |

Furthermore, nitrogen or argon also work just fine. Kp |
Re: CO2 10oz refill, 2025 revisited
Buy a 20lb bottle with a dip tube
Buy 2 ball valves and braided steel lines and the correct fittings to connect to the large bottle and the 10 oz bottle Go to you tube and watch a video or 2 on how to fill a bottle I made up this setup and could fill a bottle very easily and quickly without using a scale The parent bottle pressure is not high enough to over pressure the 10 oz bottle and quickly fills it. You can get many refills out of the big bottle. I watched my pressure gauge even on the hottest day and the pressure never was high enough to blow the safety relief valve I had 3 bottles and could change one in a couple minutes. The better solution is a K&R on board air compressor I gave my refill setup to my friend and when I needed to use an air shifter bought the K&R and there is no need for bottle refills.... |

Just take the regulator off and use compressed air. I pump my air bottle up to 135 psi with mt Ryobi inflator. works perfectly.

Re: CO2 10oz refill, 2025 revisited
I bought a 40 lb bottle (without siphon tube) and adapter fitting from welding supply store. made a stand to put bottle upside down, attach 10 oz to big bottle open valve done. you can use a fish scale to wight bottle. if you fill it to much Valve will blow-off welding shop has valves

I use a place that refills fire extinguishers. In and out in about 5 minutes. they also refill scuba tanks and soda stream bottles. look them up.
