As far as cast iron repair, and the welding/brazing up of exhaust port floors, the master is Robert Ray.
Ray?s Cracked Head Repair , Seymour Indiana
812-521-0046
Be prepared to wait a bit and it?s not cheap. But he has a furnace where he puts the entire head, gets it well over 1,000f and has sliding panels to reach in and weld/braze, then pause and let it soak. Absolutely critical to avoid cracking the poop out of cast iron.

Do they work on aluminum heads??

Kevin Panzino 02-11-2025 07:51 AM

Re: Super Stock Heads

Not sure about that. I would certainly think they would. But aluminum is much easier. Plenty of good tig welders could handle that. Then just use your head guy of choice to clean up chamber and put new seats in.

If they are aluminum heads, check with Carl Foltz @ CFE. With his machinery and manpower, the wait might not be as long.

I do appreciate that info but I am looking for recommendations, names, not wait times.
