SS GT hood scoops

Hello all,
I was wondering if someone was building a GT out of a old body with a modern engine what scoop rules apply? In this example, both the car in question and the engine package out of the guide had hood scoops available. So would it be legal to run the proper scoop for the car in question?

From the rule book:

If using a model car that has a factory fresh air hood, but the engine combination is a non-fresh air engine, the openings must be blocked off. Non fresh air engines = No openings. Fresh air engines with fresh air hood permitted.

I thought that was the case, thanks!

Would you please define fresh air hood. Or is it simply the availability of fresh air to the engine? Or do they separate ram air cars an example would be is a 400 from a ram air judge considered a fresh air engine.

Even if the scoop opening needs to be blocked off, it might an advantage due to a better intake manifold design.
