360 Duster Stocker Oil Pan ?
Are the 360 Duster stockers running a Dakota type oil pan like the 340 Duster stockers are?
Is there a particular year Dakota pan & pickup that is preferred for the 360? Thanks |
Re: 360 Duster Stocker Oil Pan ?
Look for a Dakota pan for a pre-1992 360. I got one for my 360 from Chrysler new, but there was only a few left in the country about 2 years ago.. I bought a second one from Rock Auto about a year or so ago for like $60. Try there.

Thanks for the quick reply
The earliest Dakota pan & pickup I see Rock Auto has is 1998, will those work? |

Try Bruce Parsons (Hi Performance Engine Service in Dayton), he knows exactly which one you need and may even have one.

Re: 360 Duster Stocker Oil Pan ?
On a 360 with the small radius rear cap any 1991 and up Dakota 318 or 360 pan will fit. It’s the pre 91 318 pans for the large radius rear cap that fit the 340 and pre 91 318’s that are almost non existent. If in doubt buy a pan gasket for the year pan your looking at and see if it’s right for your engine.
Just a heads up, the engine won’t fit back in after you put one of these pans on. It takes some creative engineering to make it work. I’ve seen it done several ways but it takes some work. |
