Front shocks for Volare/Aspen?
Are there any front shocks out there that will work on a Volare without fabrication? I thought I had heard that there was a Rancho shock that would work, but the closest thing on measurements I could find was the RS99764, but it says "spec" for the lower mount. Not sure what that means? Cross-reference shows it to be for a Jeep Liberty.
The stock Volare shock is a stud mount, both top and bottom, 10.67 extended, 7.06 compressed, 3.61 stroke. Just looking for a some semblance of an upgrade from my heavy-duty CARQUEST shocks! |
Re: Front shocks for Volare/Aspen?
GOOD LUCK!!!!
In our experience NOBODY makes a shock anymore. You might try some of the street rod shops like Fatman or the Rod shop but right now nobody makes anything other than a stock replacement I have a pair of the old Carrera adjustables from back in the day and they may as well be gold plated Angelo Phillips and I have gone sofar as to look into having them custom made but with no success all of the aftermarket companies-CE,lakewood,qa1 aldan etc lit them as the same as A-body which is wrong. If you find some PLEASE post info because I know ALOT racers who would love to upgrade their's as well as I said GOOD LUCK and happy hunting for your piece of unobtianium! |

Michael,
I would just call the manufactuers. QA1, Strange, Afco, etc. They might be able to hook you up. |
Re: Front shocks for Volare/Aspen?
Michael,Angelo Phillips just came down to my shop today and let me know that Calvert will have shocks available in 4-6weeks so call cal tracs and put your name on the list.
