89 foxbody camshaft questions

When we got the car it had some extra camshafts. This is a nhra stocker. We have a lunati p/n 51099. No tech card or anything. Hoping someone has some information on it.
This is what is on the box.

PRN1-RL-COBRA1110
FORD 351 WINDSOR

I found this on the web, I don’t believe that’s a legal cam:

Other sites that people asked about this cam were directed to try Bullit cams for help

Yeah. I have seen all those on the internet when I did the search. This cam if from the early 2000s. We checked the lift at the cam. Definently not those. If it was I would not have posted here. We called to talk to someone and was told when holley bought lunati they discarded most of that information. We were hoping someone may have ran it back then and still had info.

My Lunati catalog shows 51099 as custom grind and no other information.

This is what I found on the internet.

Solid Roller Cam. Excellent cam for bracket racing applications in the 10 second range with good mid range and upper RPM torque and HP. Needs 4000-4500 RPM stall converter, headers, 11:1+ compression ratio and 4.30+ gearing. Rough idle. ; Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 296/308 ; Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 265/276 ; Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .668/.668 ; LSA/ICL: 106/100 ; Valve Lash (Int/Exh): .028/.028 ; RPM Range: 4000-8000 ; Includes: Cam Only

Ok so from what I am gathering from all my research and what you all have came up with 51099 just means custom grind cam.

I have found the next number is the custom grind number. And if they got rid of all that information when holley bought I am out of luck. Thanks everyone for the input.

Paul, We had a Foxbody GT and ran 11.90's in M/SA in the early 2000's with a Bullet cam. Also, if your car is a GT which I think it is, you can call it an 87 and it's a natural L car. You might have my old car. We ran a 95 Cobra R stocker in the late 90's before we built the Foxbody and it was a 351W and we ran a Lunati cam in that car with 106 lobe separation. We sold both cars to the same guy. He might have accidentally given that cam to the guy who bought your car.

Good evening Paul and to all,
When in doubt, see if someone in your area has a Cam Doctor or something like that and they can spin it for you and you'll get lift, duration and opening and closing ramp speed numbers. The Cam Dr. cant do lobe centers, but if you think its usable then stick it in a block with a crank and one rod and piston and figure the Lobe Separation numbers with a degree wheel and a dial indicator.
Good luck with your new pieces.

Respectfully,
Henry Kunz 1534 H/SA

Re: 89 foxbody camshaft questions

Thanks Henry. We have already had it in the block and checked the lift. The lift is legal. We Were hoping someone out there had this camshaft and would have some info on it. I will install it and see where everything comes out for lobe separation. Compare with others we have. Thanks for all the info!
