Ron… I have several sets of Super Tricks, Centrelines, Weld Wheels they all accept a Standard Mag wheel lug nut which measures .6875". I have new sets of MOROSO and Mark Williams 5/8"(.625") Studs that all measure .6875" on the shank. The description 5/8"(.625) is the thread diameter of the Retaining Nuts to the Axle and the Wheel Retaining Nuts. If your axles have a press in stud, you most likely will have to drill the flange to accept the .625 stud. In theory you should be "good to go". Hope this helps you…Maurice.

I've had two cars with 5/8" studs and not had to drill Super Tricks...some have needed a bit of "help" going on if the floating spacer in between the two rim halves is slightly out of place..

I use a 4-flute, straight-shank counterbore drill with a removable pilot.

Select the appropriate pilot size and a 5/8" 4-flute, straight shank, counterbore drill.

Ron, just wondering how shug your Super Tricks fit onto the studs. I have 2 different sets of older Centerlines, 1 set are Auto Drags, the others are Pro Stock models, and I have 5/8" Strange studs, which have a thin steel sleeve that is threaded over the studs, to make a close fit to the undrilled holes of my Centerlines. The style of lug nuts that were used with the Centerlines, Super Tricks, and Welds, were shank style , that used the shank portion to take up the difference between the mounting holes in the wheels, and the 7/16" or 1/2" wheel studs most cars had back then. The Super Tricks used to come with aluminum , open end shank style nuts, that could gall up inside the wheels, and NHRA made illegal back in the 70s.

Re: drilling cragar super tricks for a 5/8'' stud

The cragar super tricks fit snug on the 5/8'' stud. The car came with thin holeshot wheels and the moser 5/8'' stud kit that uses a thick aluminum spacer and a flanged nut, with the super tricks the thinner 9/16'' spacer worked out well. There is a good picture of the stud kit on the moser wedsite.
