Stock Eliminator suspension
Looking at the NHRA rule book it states "aftermarket tie rods with Heim joints permitted"
Does that include the front suspension strut/tie rods? |

One of the few things NOT allowed in S/E. |
Re: Stock Eliminator suspension
Better double check that Mark, I thought it was allowed when NHRA also allowed the stock Elim roll bar to go thru the dash and into engine compartment .. Disclaimer …. My memory is not what it used to be. :)

Re: Stock Eliminator suspension
SUSPENSION, FRONT
Must retain complete stock front suspension system as produced by manufacturer for body used, aftermarket tie rods with Heim joints permitted. Lower control arm may be machined for larger shock diameter and mount. Lift kits/travel limiters prohibited. Sway bar optional. See General Regulations 3:4. |
Re: Stock Eliminator suspension
Well, it DOES make it easier to fix "bump-steer".

Re: Stock Eliminator suspension
If I heard right, one long time stock racer I talked with said the QA1 strut bar was allowed now on his car (Demon).? Back to square one if not allowed.

I know, when I was helping out a bit on the Tbolt, about 6-7 years ago, they weren't allowed. That was source of movement that was not good. Some of you might have noticed a bracket car or two with bad bushings. Seeing the front wheels move back and forth while staging was a REAL safety issue. |

You are correct! It took NHRA some time to understand it was a safety issue, especially after a wheelstand. As I understand, it was Troy Olsonawski who brought up the issue with NHRA and the actual risk. |
Re: Stock Eliminator suspension
Great news, with mine now there is no movement front and back when wheels are in air back to normal height. A lot of time went into fixing that and the bump steer.
