Advice on Carb/manifold combo 396/402
 

Is it advisable to run the Holley carb, like R4346, with the booster tabs when using the stock 375 HP 163 or optional 359 Alum intake manifold?

Is it legal to have a coating on the carb body vs original Alodine color?

Good morning Adger an to all,
It is my opinion when using the factory dual plane style intakes to use the boosters with the tabs, the factory spent a fair amount of time performing R&D on that carb and intake manifold combination. You might find ( when testing on the dyno ) other styles of booster shape and fuel dispersment attachments to help the fuel get to the cylinders. This is an area that Bill Jenkins was a master of. Have your temperature gun ready to keep track of the heat in the individual cylinders while tuning.

Our two best/fastest carburetors are a 3310 Holroyd, and a Quick Fuel by Bridges. They do not have tabs. Another Quick Fuel is a close third. Call Bridges, 615-228-3516. Or talk to Barry Polley.
