Front and rear coil spring advice.....

Hello All,I am trying to get the ride height right ,LOWWWW on my BB iron head Chevelle. I just installed 200 lb Landrum springs in front, but it sits about 2" too high...I know you have to be careful when you cut,how much coil ? Also a rear 12" tall small diam.wire that will compress...y,all out there have more experience than I do.I don't want to screw it up.
God Bless BH

You don't say which year. Up to 67, front are tangential both ends and I use Moog etc, 5230 with 3/8 coil cut from each end. 68 up have the top square end so you may have to heat and flatten the bottom some so it sits right in the lower A arm after cutting. 64 to 66, rear are tangential on top, pigtail bottom and you can use whatever spring rate you want and cut the top end, heat and bend some to flatten the last half coil so it sits in the frame perch. 67-up are pigtail both ends so you can't do that, more difficult to custom tailor your height.

Landrum no longer lists a 5" by 16" spring on their website which i have found works in alot of applications, varying rate of course. I've had three sets of 18" springs come in, two sets for gm cars and one set for an fe Mustang and most were closer to 16" when i finally got the ride height right.

Which spring did you use on the Mustang 180 or 200? I have a pair of 180.

MY69396,

It's been a couple of years but i'm pretty sure they were 180's.
