Re: SBC Starter
There are many good ones , but for Chevies and Pontiacs I have used Hamburgers and Tilton with good success.

Re: SBC Starter
Just make sure you buy either another starter for a spare or get another starter drive for the one you have---these things die at the most inopportune times--They are all basically Hitachi starters that have been reworked--- if you have a good starter rebuilder in your area he can "hop it up" so that it will really spin over but not burn itself out --FED 387

Re: SBC Starter
I use GPE Starters in Oklahoma City for my car. Call Jared at 405-340-8986. He is a racer and understands what you need.

Re: SBC Starter
In my experience of using most of the brands on the market, Mark Payne, House of Payne, is an excellent choice. Good service, good product, fellow racer.

Re: SBC Starter
This one, with the optional pinion support.
https://www.robbmcperformance.com/pr...y_starter.html Much better design and build quality than other mini starters I've used. |
Re: SBC Starter
I have had great luck with Powermaster, I use their Alternator also

House of Payne Premium is $260. Buy direct.

Re: SBC Starter
Talk to House of Payne, he'll want to know your setup is and recommend what will work best for you. in my case he recommended a GM mini starter from an 8.1L GM truck jobber # 6449.
