Need tech help: Super Stock Ford 302 '82-'95 Edelbrock heads
I am looking to see if a Ford Super Stock Racer can help me out.
One that has used the NHRA allowed Edelbrock 302 heads that are legal for the '82-'95 302 combos. ( 60367 ) Best I can tell NHRA allowed them starting in 2014. Any pics of a set with identification showing they are NHRA legal would be a bonus. ( part # or NHRA logo ) I am interested in acquiring a set that are legal. Thanks, Alan |

Re: Need tech help: Super Stock Ford 302 '82-'95 Edelbrock h
The larger issue with the Edelbrock and AFR SBF replacement heads is that they are set up for larger than stock valves. All of the valve seats have to be removed, the ports welded up to match the smaller seats and then ported to match the smaller seats. Lots of money and work involved with making this work.

I sent a set off to Kuntz a couple of years ago and he said he couldn't make them work.

If anyone is interested, I do have a New set of the SBF NHRA accepted heads AFR #1399 that are professionally 50% done, ports raised and filled, no seat work yet. Interestingly, as well as being accepted for the 289 / 302 combos, These 1399's are also accepted on the 351W 4bbl with the larger 1.852 /1.548 valves. Depending on the throat, the factory installed seats maybe would work out..... PM for more details...
