LS hydraulic roller lifters
This buildup will be a relatively mild 6.0 engine with cathedral port heads. Also with a carburetor in my street/strip 53 Studebaker. The upper RPM will be limited to 7000 RPM. It will be played with on the street, occasionally taken to the track, car shows, and parades. I am expecting horsepower in the 525 range, N/A.
Which hydraulic roller lifter is giving good service in this application? |
Re: LS hydraulic roller lifters
We've had really good luck with the actual gm LS7 lifters. I have a street strip 6.0 in my old Nova stocker. Pretty similar to what you are talking about. Makes about 550 or so turn it 7400. These lifters have been in that engine for about 5 years now. Was apart over the winter for a cam swap and still look great. I think the last set we bought for another build they were about $400.

Re: LS hydraulic roller lifters
I have done a few LS motors for some local hot rods. I always use the GM Racing Hydraulic Roller Lifter Kit (88958689). They are good to 8,000. I have also used them in some of the COPO motors with good results.
