O2 Sensor Location

This has probably been asked, but couldn't find it, so will ask. How far away from the primaries in the collector should the O2 sensor be placed? This is for a 4th Gen F body LT1 stock eliminator. Using a Holley HP system.

I moved mine from the collector and put it about 10” away from the head in a primary tube. Works much better than in a collector. People will argue “but that’s only measuring one cylinder instead of the average. What if that cylinder has a problem?” To me it doesn’t matter in that regard. No matter where it’s located and you have a bad cylinder it’s still going to be messed up.

I was advised 9" from the header flanges. One in each primary, so you can move the 02's around.

A good way to mark where to place the O2 once you measure down from the flange is to use a spark plug. That will give you a good idea where on the tube to get enough clearance for the O2 and wire.

Kyle,
Since you are a Texan, do you use a 5/8" Short Reach spark plug or a Long Reach, 13/16" spark plug??? :D:

Talked to a super nice guy a few weeks ago, he has one in each primary about 10 - 12 inches from the head.
