I have my own theory on what happened in that final round based on the numbers available online, but I'd love to hear the real story!

I have it from a reliable source that the tower didn't just get the dial wrong. Larry erased the last two digits for the heads-up semifinal and forgot to put the dial back on for the final.

He caught it on the boards, but since it wasn't written on the car he couldn't change it verbally.

Tough way to lose any round, let alone a final.
