1956 Chevy Stocker Carb?
WCFB or 4GC?
205hp/265 Thanks, Mike Szcz.... |

4GC is very very slightly bigger than the WCFB in '56. In '55 there was no 4GC so one must run the Carter.

Re: 1956 Chevy Stocker Carb?
My late brother (Richard) ran both a 55 and a 56 in superstock and i can remember him saying he could find no difference in performance. It seemed at the time he was switching drive trains back and forth because of horse power changes and as you can only use the wcfb on a 55 it was easier to leave wcfb. Both cars were really fast for the time and he really worked hard on them.

I tested both on my ‘56 before I went to the dual 4bl 225 hp.
Back-to-back at a track rental. Same lane, etc. same ET & MPH. I had no flow bench then, but told my dumb self “Bigger must be better, right?”. |
