#lovethislife Episode One - Dave Hirata
Hi all -
I realize this is not the right forum, but if you're interested, I am premiering a new project with in-depth interviews from around the sport. The series title "lovethislife" is borrowed from Alan Reinhart's familiar Twitter hashtag. The first episode features Alcohol racer Dave Hirata and, depending on the feedback, hopes to be the first of a regular series of these chats. Here's the link to tonight's episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16VYola8E4g Let me know what you think! Thanks! Warren Evans dragracer.tv |

Mr. Evans,
This is a good idea, more, more, more. (Had a chance to meet "The Hirata's Yellow Monster family" at a E-town or Reading, many years ago… and I still wear their A/F Yellow Monster T-Shirt.) There's is a great article on his mother/father "resilience" after the Pearl Harbour attack. It is in an old Drag Racing magazine or maybe the Competitionplus website… but I'm not sure. Keep on Mr. Evans. |

Great job, Warren!

Re: #lovethislife Episode One - Dave Hirata
I got to meet Dave and his dad Kenny at the Lions Museum in October. They were there with Roland Leong. There are not a whole lot of Asian drag racers so it was pretty cool to see three of the greatest in one spot.

Thanks Warren, love Dave’s attitude. He obviously has great parents, look forward to meeting them at an event this year.
He grew up in the greatest country in the world, a country that sat aside animosity to help Japan rebuild after the war. Thankfully the internment is another example of our missteps often being far overshadowed by our capability to do the right things more often than not. God bless the USA. |
