Divisional Question????
Here in Division 2 there are 6 divisional races and a few 1/8 ,mile opens. My question is how do the points work on the opens? As I understood and forgive me if I am wrong, as it has been a few years since we raced any NHRA, but as I understood you could earn a grade point for the opens, but can you earn points towards your divisional total there as well? Or are divisional totals only calculated from the divisional series races and if you race any out of division? Just thinking ahead and looking for the best possible scenario for next season when we get back to it.

Re: Divisional Question????
The National Opens only awards points toward that series.
See link for 2019 NO points https://www.nhra.com/standings/2019/...pen/division-2 Division points awarded as follows: “Each driver in the remaining NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series categories may compete for home-division NHRA Lucas Oil series points at up to eight divisional events and will be credited with the points earned for their best five finishes including up to two out-of-division races. A driver may earn points at -outside events even after a driver’s home-division schedule is -completed. To be eligible for official NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series regional and division points and subsequent -postseason awards, a contestant must -claim a minimum of three races within his or her home region or division.” |
Re: Divisional Question????
So entering a national open does not count towards grade points either?

Re: Divisional Question????
No problem just keep in mind those national opens do not pay Contingency so it’s a good place to Get a grade point but not much payout or help for quarter mile testing
