Stock Eliminator camshaft question
Tool steel or Cast steel for stock eliminator camshaft?

Re: Stock Eliminator camshaft question
One thought , depending on required spring pressures for your motor, start with a Cast iron nitrided cam core. Figure out what cam profile is best ( generally after 3-4 cam swaps at 200.00 ea) and then go to the expense of a tool steel cam core. With 200lbs on the seat, a C.I. cam that's broken on correctly, should be ok for 80-100 runs before it should be removed and inspected with the lifters. PPPC will resurface a set of tool steel lifters for 125.00.
Good Luck either way you go. Steve Teeter. STK/SS. 6380/6283 |
