Trailer-Aid Ramp

I’m looking for opinions and experiences with a Trailer-Aid Ramp. Is the Standard 4 1/2ā€ model fine for tandem axle non spread axle with torsion axles or is the 5 1/2ā€ needed? Also how well do these work with leaf sprung tandem axles?

I have the 5 1/2 model good for 15,000 lbs. I’ve used it several times on my tandem axle trailer with torsion bars,16 inch wheels. My previous trailer had leaf springs,15 inch wheels and it worked with no issues.

Very handy in my opinion.
Don’t use it as much since I quit using trailer tires. :)

I'm too cheap to buy one so I made one angle cutting and stacking 2x6's. I have a tandem torsion axle with 16" wheels and it's worked great. I'm pretty sure mine is 3 layers high which would be 4 1/2". I carry a cordless impact and have had to change a flat and it's a pretty quick deal with the ramp. I've used it on my leaf spring open trailer and it works fine on it.
