RIP Keath "HK" Newstrom
I am very sad to report the passing of Keath "HK" Newstrom from complications of a stroke he suffered last Saturday. HK raced a line of stockers in Division 5 under the "Starshine Racing" banner. He began his racing career in the mid 1960's at Minnesota Dragways and competed until a few years ago. He is a MDRA Hall of Fame inductee and had a passion for the promotion of drag racing for everyone's future. He is survived by his wife Kay. Funeral arrangements and time to follow. .
Updated information: Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 22, at Prince of Peace LC, 7217 W Broadway Ave, Brooklyn Park, MN 55428. Visitation one hour prior to service. Burial at Fron Cemetery, Starbuck, MN later this spring. |

Very sad news.Remember him coming up to the points meets we had at our local track in Winnipeg,Canada (Bison Dragways) in the early 70's.And then seeing/talking with him over a 40 year period at BIR and other events.Good Guy ...RIP. John (gsa612)

Sorry to hear. Was fun to pit near him during one of my first national events in Denver. Great guy. God Speed my friend.
