CLASS RACER FORUM - 1998 SS & Stk records

I have some longshot questions, for some of you div 4 guys.

The GT/LA record Shows Billy Joe Moravits, driving an 87 Firebird.

(1) Anybody remember the driver or car ?

(2) Anybody know what engine the car had ?

The reason I'm asking is that Billy Joe was Stock RU at an IHRA points race, at which my girlfriend won the bracket class. He was driving an early '70's T/A. The race was held at I-20 Dragway, in Tyler TX, which is not far from the Hallsville TX track, where Billy Jo set this record. We ran both tracks quite a bit, back in the '70's.

Barney Moravits had a machine shop & I assume built the motors that Billy Joe raced. I think they both lived in South TX.

(3) Anybody remember Barney Moravits ?

(4) Anybody know if either of these guys are members here, or anybody have contact info for either ?

The 3rd pic below shows that BJ won an earlier race, in a darker colored, early '70's Bird. So, with his history of driving Pontiac powered Stockers, I'm wondering if maybe the GT car also had Pontiac power. Hey, I said it was a longshot. :)
