Randy, I use Moroso springs with one coil cut off (varies car to car). You might start with
1/2 coil and see how you like it. AFCO struts and nylon control arm bushings. My car
(84 Z-28) weighs 3295 race ready. Hope this helps.

Reggie

I called AFCO and they said they never made a strut or shock to fit the 1982-1992 Camaros or Firebirds. Do you have a part number?

Searched the web on this part number AVO-124R and could not find anything. Even searched the AVO web site and nothing.

Re: 82-92 Camaro Front Shocks

Randy,

To my knowledge the Koni SPA-1 is about as good as you can buy for a single adjustable strut. If you need them to be double adjustable, True Choice is about the only people that can modify them that I found. You can buy them from True Choice already modified or you can send in a set of your own. But if you do, be sure to tell them that you want the extension to be AS LOOSE AS POSSIBLE. We had ours modified and they were way too tight on the extension when we got them back. We had to send them back to be worked on a second time and they are still too tight. There is quite a difference in a Super Stock car with a trans brake and a Stocker leaving on a foot brake as to the amount of resistance needed on the extension, and True Choice probably doesn't take this into account when setting them up.
Unless you will be going into the 1.40's or faster in 60 ft. times the single adjust Koni's should work fine, and they are loose enough on the extension to get the wheels up nicely.
Hope this helps!
