The angle brkts. are fine. Can't make heads or tails out of the sketch.

You shouldn't be able to move the seat at all when mounted, make sure the seat back is secured to the cage,,,,, I like to think of it as you should be able to hook a tow strap to the seat itself and pull the car,,,, its your butt in the seat, choose wisely

I was going to use grade eight bolts through the floor and have another plate between the floor and bolt and washer

Is the lower part the bolt goes through a piece of square aluminum tubing? And then the angle brackets welded together over the top of that?
I don't know about legal, but I would make my seat brackets out of steel with that much braketry. I would think the square aluminum tubing would want to crush when tightened. Are these plastic seats?

If everything is in proportion in the sketch, you want to elevate the seat bracket 4.5 inches from the floor. Looks like a column totaling 4.5 inches high, 1.5 inches wide and 1.8 inches deep. If correct, even four of these will be too shaky.

My riser consists of a pair of 2X4X14 inch aluminum tubes bolted to an .090 6061T6 aluminum plate at the top to form a table wider and deeper than the seat itself. It's a Kirkey. With a Kirkey brace bolted to the cross bar, it's very stiff.

I got my materials from a local Metal Supermarket. They have an online store and you can get a variety of stuff ordered cut to size.

David,

I'll try to get a better picture but take a look at the last batch from my build thread.

I used 2X2 1/8 tube and angle cut the ends so I could run the bolts on the inside. I wanted to avoid running through the floor, so by offsetting the bottom bolts I was able to catch the original seat track holes.
