camp grounds in FL

Does anyone know of a good campground in Florida that can handle big rigs? Somewhere between Orlando and Gainesville area.

Vic, there's a couple near or in Waldo, Florida. I think Larry Hill has used them. - Jim -

That's the height of the season down here so make contact as soon as you can for a reservation. Most nice parks are pretty full this time of year here in Fla. there are quite a few parks near Ocala that might have vacancies.

Mike is right on; you will pay premium for "Premier" Resort but several of them can accommodate parking stackers in a secure separate area. You'd be amazed how many high end motorhomes bring all their toys with stackers. There are even some outstanding state parks that will handle larger rigs (Gamble Rogers comes to mind, on the river side area) but snowbirds fill Florida during the winter. I've had good success using this website, then typically call the place and look at area using Google maps to make sure it's readily accessible.

Vic, we usually get lot 73 at Starke, it is very convenient to everything and is 75' if I remember correctly. Nice little shopping center next door with Dollar General, Tractor Supply, etc.

That Tractor Supply sucks me in every time I drive by...some good places to eat in town too.

When planning your trip, include a little extra time to go over to Kissimmee and visit Stallion 51 and take a ride behind some real big horsepower. It ain't cheeep, call ahead, they have 4 available, and a great way to help forget e-town ever existed. They have plenty of parking there. John Kissel K242

When searching for a campground I've used this website to help with my decision.

Florida can be tough in the winter.
