Bent Landrum spring

I’ve got a set of Caltracs on my ‘70 Nova with Landrum monoleafs. The right rear spring is bent, I’m guessing from the force applied by the Caltrac bar. Is anyone running doin anything to strengthen the Landrum (extra top half for example) or just running Calvert split monos? Thanks guys.

What is bent? Front or rear segment and has ride height changed? You might be able to add a half leaf.

The Landrums are a parabolic monoleaf. The front of the spring is bent. Yes it changed the ride height.

Re: Bent Landrum spring

I have a dozen cars with John's springs and shocks.

A couple are Heavy and have over 500 runs on them
in last ten years and we have not noticed any issues.

We adjust them accorded to his directions and make sure that nothing
is binding and everything is free moving. Perhaps the geometry on the spring you are
using is not compatible....We bought a car with Mopar Superstock springs
and Calvert bars and it was so bound up that it may as well been mounted
solid!

I have never tried them without his springs or driven them extensively
on the street.

His stuff is the best things we have every used on suspension......Use his Shocks/Struts
and other suspension pieces as well.

Might be able to press it back to correct ride height, then add half leaf of same curve. I agree with John everything needs to move freely.

A four wheel scale will tell you a lot.

Good luck

I have run the Landrum springs forever with no problem and no extra leaves. If you bent a spring I would think something is bound up or way out of adjustment.

Look into a company called Flex Form, they have composite springs. About 8 lbs a side and are around $400.
