Data Loggers/Logging

Is there a rule somewhere in the book that I'm not seeing about data loggers and what is/isn't allowed? I know plenty of people using data loggers and that the EFI systems are capable of data logging, but I'm looking at buying a new Ignition system with logging capabilities and they say they are not legal for NHRA sportsman classes. Any insights?

Re: Data Loggers/Logging

It is not likely the data logging portion of the ignition system you are looking at is what is making it illegal. What it probably makes it illegal is traction control feature. There are several models of ignition boxes that support automatic traction control. Those boxes are illegal. Go the NHRA accepted products document to see which systems are legal.
