Stock rules 2 Step, 3 Step
 

I have trouble interpreting the rule book. It says,
IGNITION, Automatic
Two-step permitted. Two-step must be foot-activated through brake pedal, clutch pedal, or pressure switch. Hand release prohibited. All wiring associated with the ignition system must be fully visible, labeled, and traceable. See General Regulation


Does this mean a 2-Step is legal and a 3-Step is not?

As I interpret the rules, Ray, you can have 3 rpm-limiters -

1. Launch limit - set-up as you described from the rulebook
2. Low side limit - which I use to control burn-out rpm
3. High side limit - for catastrophic protection.

If you do a thread search you'll find a lot of information on how to set-up and wire the launch limiter, as it is the most critical of the three, at least as far as the rules are concerned.
