I deal with alot of blocks. The Bowtie is a nice piece for sure and so is the Dart.

The SHP has been all ways a good choice all machined cam be bought for 1895.00

What block are you looking at ??

Dart and Bowtie have there Sportsman series with nodular iron caps and then there blocks with billet caps.

What's your application ? Whats your goal on HP ?

If your looking for a block send me a PM.

Carl

Re: Block choice

Carl, it is for a Stocker. The 3 accepted choices are Bowtie, Dart, and
World Products. The World Products block requires additional work
to get it to where the other 2 are. So that leaves Bowtie or Dart, and I
was hoping to get opinions on those 2 from people that have had some
Stocker experience with both. Thanks, J.R.

What work would a World block need that a Dart or Bowtie would not need?

Re: Block choice

J.R., Matt and Jason at Victory Engines in Marshall, Mn. just did a new Dart SHP for me.
The priority main oiling is great. The lifter bores come undersized and need to finished honed to the appropriate size....a good feature. There is a balance between between lifter style (where the oil hole is relative to the band), pushrod cup oil hole diameter, pushrod oil diameter, etc. so you don't get excessive oil upstairs.

I got my Dart from CNC Motorsports in Brooking, SD http://www.cnc-motorsports.com/

I'm sure the Bow Ties are great, as well. -Al

Re: Block choice

JR, If you decide to go with a Bow Tie I have an older Bowtie that is still in the crate. The customers project didn't get going. It is for sale. The Bow Tie is what I have used on several projects like yours.

I have both a shp and a Bowtie, both good
Blocks but you pay a wt penalty with the Bowtie
As its about 30-35lbs heavier.
