Leaf Spring Wheelie Bars

Just wondering how far from the rear bumper / valance is safe to run wheelie bars at. I have seen alot of stockers that run them high since the rear rotates so much. I have to bring mine up higher and want to see how high. I don't know if the rear will rotate down much more than at rest with the cal-tracs and leafs.

Who made the bars and what kind of car are they on? Let us know that, then hopefully, somebody with a similar combo can help get you started.
Hope this helps.

On our leaf spring with cal track GT/TD Dakota, rear end rotates a lot! When running the S&W bars, we run them as high as possible, cut the valance, shortened the bars too. The truck is faster the bigger the wheel stand. Perfection would be bars don't hit at all, just there for disaster control.

Start out safe and conservative in the middle, and move up from there as needed. Don't forget to play with softness too.

I have some brackets I had made by Jim Bailey years ago to put wheelie bars directly on the 3" axle of a stock car. Bought a kit, and Mark Oswald put it together for me. Worked great. The bracket measure from top hole to bottom hole were what Competition Engineering suggested. They are precise as Jim had a laser cutter. They are free. Pay shipping or buy me a case of beer when I see you. Simple. jefft@southlanddodge.com

I am going to shorten the top bars. maybe put something to adjust them in the top bars.

I know they really rotate down towards the ground when the rear rotates. But when you lift after the stripe how much if any will they rotate back towards the bumper?

example: if at rest they are 1" from the bottom of the bumper. at launch and going down the track they are almost touching the ground. Where are they on deceleration? Hitting the bumper? 1" from bumper?

Thanks guys
