on a ss\cm is there any wiggle room on mounting the scoop. i would like to mount it separately so the hood can come off and leave the scoop--4th gen camaros the carb sets so far back-----thanks firebird

I was told no to mounting it on the carb and sliding the hood on. So I just mount the air pan to the carb and pull the hood off with the scoop attached.
