Front spoiler
I have a 70 chevelle super street car. I was wondering if anyone has tried a front spoiler and if so was there any speed increase. The car runs about 140 now

Re: Front spoiler
my brothers 70 camaro picked up with the addition of a factory front spoiler

Re: Front spoiler
Cleaning up the air in front of the car almost always helps , but a lot of times the increase in speed is caused by the change in overhang in front of the wheels picking up the trap lights differently.
It can also play hell with driving the stripe if its above the beams until you drop the nose. You drop the car and it goes quicker ! Ask any Stocker with a 4th gen Camaro about that one. |
Re: Front spoiler
I can definitely vouch for Tom's statement about a late model Camaro or Firebird dropping the nose and going quicker....had it happen twice and it cost me the rd win both times...
Anything hanging out front that is low can cause this issue to pop up... |
Re: Front spoiler
I guess I better measure the hieght with the suspension on the bump stop and make sure I have atleast 6inches of clearance

Re: Front spoiler
or drop the nose and make it always take the stripe every time

Re: Front spoiler
I was assuming your Chevelle was a stock front clip car , that's why I mentioned it .
I've seen it happen a few times. Like Topless said ,If you can keep it down low ,it should not be a problem |
Re: Front spoiler
A friend of mine took the front spoiler off his AA/SA 1st gen Camaro and picked up almost a tenth in et.

Re: Front spoiler
Looks like we're about evenly split here on what to do. I guess the only way to know for sure short of a wind tunnel test is a pass with and without
