Racepak question(s)

Hey guys, I could use your help.

I'm looking to install a Racepak data logger in a car that has a preexisting RPM Performance Products data logger.

In an effort to keep costs down, will the Racepak work with the existing EGT probes, G-meter, etc.?

I haven't had a chance to call Racepak, but it would be nice if they had a customer support email on their website.

Thanks!

You may be able to use the EGT's, but you'll probably need a controller to connect them to the Racepak. G-meter is already built-in. I bought mine from Greg Kelley at Motorsports Innovations. He was very helpful before and after the sale. http://motorsportsinnovations.com/

Re: Racepak question(s)

A lot of the sensors from prior systems can be used with Racepak - I do this all the time. Racepak has a generic 4 channel box that will take in almost any 0-5 sensor so that's how we get it done.

The Sportsman and V300SD loggers come with an integrated G-meter.

Re: Racepak question(s)

Thanks for the advice.

We're looking into doing away with our mechanical gauges and upgrade the data logger at the same time by installing a LDX Logger Dash.

I can't find on the Racepak site, or in their catalog that hasn't been updated since 2012, where it says that the LDX has a built in G-Meter, but does it?

Thanks!

It does NOT.

You would be much better served by a Sportsman logger (which includes a G-meter), a display dash and sensors. One of the other limitations of the LDX is it only holds one run. The Sportsman can record 150 on to the SD card. I recommend setting them up to trigger logging at 5000 RPM in the burn out - you never miss a run and don't have to download runs till you get home and update your log book.
