Stock Roller Lifters

Are we allowed to use the hydraulic roller lifters that use the link bar for alignment instead of using the original type with the spider and dogbones? 305 Chevy stocker.

No...but you can use them in Super Stock if you'd rather be there LOL

Re: Stock Roller Lifters

You cannot use a solid roller lifter.
If the engine was hydraulic roller from the factory it is legal to use aftermarket hydraulic roller lifters with tie bar.
Always check with your division tech director.

Re: Stock Roller Lifters

Then I would assume you could use an early block to build a roller motor for Stock?

Taller is a good thing ,allows for a shorter pushrod, extra weight on the lifter side of the rocker not a problem.Bill C.

Agreed Bill! Was waiting for Mark to mention that.
Shorter can be stiffer for less deflection in the valve train.

Re: Stock Roller Lifters

As soon as they started allowing bow tie blocks mark they started allowing the use of the hydraulic tie bar lifters. I do agree the new version of stock is definitely way different than the rules we had when I started in the mid 90's, I can only imagine how much different it is for guys that started in the 70's and 80's or earlier...such is life I guess...lol
