What size fuel line?

For my 396/325 Chevy would a 3/8 - 6AN be good or 1/2 8AN ? Have a 300-400 GPH pump I bought years ago from a retiring Pro Stock truck racer. I used in my 68 Impala with same combination. Can't remember what size line I used.

At least#8 would use#10,with a return system,I've seen something with a Q-jet using a return line.Lee.

Re: What size fuel line?

Note that the return line must be really big to not increase the fuel pressure at the carb. If you find the pressure cannot be decreased to below where you want to run it as a test while idling the pressure is return line resistance..not pump pressure. We used copper gas line 1/2 diameter as return line or pressure at carb too high for Q JET. They seem to like 6.5 to 7 area
