Mopar GT-truck engine..383 versus 360

71 383 is rated at 300, 305 with heads with holley 600

80 360 rated at 289 with thermaquad(sheane studley runs this)

Roller cam not too high of a lift cam for that stocker like experience.

Would run footbrake only with likely 4.88 rear.

Would be in the slow gt/td 11.30 index world

Thoughts?

Thanks

Eric

Eric,

I believe that '70-'71 Holley for a 383 is closer to 735 cfm. Do you want a "killer" 383? I THINK Don Little is willing to sell his.

I'd go with the 383 personally. The TQ is more carb than the 360 needs. The 360 doesn't have the same airflow capabilities as the 383 does either. Plus the 383's proven itself as a very competitive SS combo the last few years. Little, Cotten, Wann, etc.

Greg's right: call "Chicken" Little!

Hi Greg, how's it going. The 71 4 speed carb is the one to use, it's legal on all 70-71 Auto or Man, should flow in the low 700s. The 70 and the 71 Auto have smaller secondaries.
