How much would a decent motor cost for a 68 camaro to run stick thanks just bought a car rolling

Be more specific. There are several good stick combinations, small block and big block. How fast do you want to go? How much are you willing to spend? How hard do you want to work?

i was thinking about a 327/325 or 350/295 combo a rough dollar amount

Those are two well flogged combinations, that put you in competitive classes. Perhaps the highest concentration of stick cars are found in F, G, and H. A relatively competitive used engine will probably be $10K, figure $15K new. If you want to be better than average, figure on spending more. I don't know where you are located, but here in Division 2 and Division 3, it is not uncommon to see 3 or more cars in those classes in 64 car field, in fact, when we ran G/S, there were 3 of us in the class on a regular basis just at the local combo races.
