M/W's Brakes Vs Lamb Brakes

I've searched and read all of the previously posted brake threads regarding M/W's and Lamb, and I know enough to know Lamb is the very best when it comes to brakes. I have received what I consider very good pricing on the M/W's at $2200.00 for both front back with the slotted lightening option. The Lamb's Renfro Kit for my application (1991 Mustang Coupe) with Santhuff struts and 9" rear end are $2850.00.

This is not a high HP deal I am building, but it is a Heads-Up format and I am trying to not leave anything on the table as far as chassis efficiency. The rear differential is a Dewco unit with a Lamb pinion support with ceramics, and we are using ceramics at every axle and spindle.

I have had Strange in the past, and with them, the same issues many other racers have experienced as far as hung up or dragging calipers, and their rotor's warping. So they are not an option. The only company who pays contingency in our series is Aerospace; and two fellow racers I know have them, and have told me to not even consider them.

With that said, I am seeking input from those who have already paved this road, and would like to know if the Lamb's are more efficient going down track than the MW's, and are they worth the extra $650-$700 dollars, or will the MW's lightened brakes work just as well ? Thank you !!!

From my experience Lamb is the best. All my cars have had Lamb brakes, absolutely worth the extra money. Although I’m sure mark Williams may be just as good.

If you can afford all of those ceramic bearings............Buy the Lamb stuff, you won't be sorry.

I appreciate everyone's input, is there a preference on master cylinders ?

Take a look at the Baer Deep Stage Drag Racing Brake System.
It loooks very robust, does not use any spacers and Baer has a great reputation for their brake components.

Re: M/W's Brakes Vs Lamb Brakes

If you want your car to be at its best in the brake area, by LAMB. If you just want your car to stop good after a run, by MW or Strange... their stuff stops just fine if installed correctly. I have driven a few cars and hands down the LAMB stuff is the best. Remember, you are not just buying a brake kit, you are buying piece of mind that when you step on the pedal the four corners of your car are going to work together to stop you. If you do get the LAMB stuff, you will have to send in your front spindles to ge checked to make sure they run true. You should also send in your brake pedal hanger if they ask you for it to make sure that the ratio is correct and its set up correctly, and yes spend the money for a M/C from LAMB. Regardless of what people say and think, its another piece of the puzzle to achieving an Engineered brake kit, not just a brake kit.
