I bought a canton and love it, use as a pre-oil @ start and dumps if under 25psi. bought the electric solenoid so it dumps @ startup when I hit the ign. switch.

Re: Accumulators

that must have been impressive. so when the oil pressure went down did the cylinder rod extend the front suspenion allowing the oil to run to the back of the pan??? LOL!!!! we may be onto something here call the patent people quick.

more specifically, i am not interested in the accumulator for its pre-oiling capability, although it will be a gained benifit. i will be only requiring a 1 quart accumulator. i am looking for an accumulator with an aluminum barrel and the lightest possible weight.

in the hydraulic business we fill the nitrogen portion of the accumulator to 60% of the working pressure. is this the standard for low pressure systems (i.e. our engines oil system pressures of <60psi)?

any help is appreciated. worse case i guess i could go buy the cheapest version, read the instructions and then decide if i want to build a light weight unit or not.
Regards
Ian
