Anybody had any experience with the lite lithium batterys pros or cons Before I spend the big money for a battery thought I'd better ask Thanks Bill

Don't forget the liteweight battery gets it's own battery charger$

Ya, I guess that's the other reason I'm being a little cautious. Want to buy the right one the first time. They sure look good on paper and could really use the weight reduction......The weight difference is enough to make my car fit pretty good in next higher class.

But you can also offset the weight of any front/OEM located battery with a second one of the same weight in the trunk where it will do the most good for traction! It just won't help any plans to move up a class.

Dad ran a Dana Batt for years in his H/PS mustang. it was 13lbs never had any trouble. He even ran it on the street (local track was just 5 miles way)

Same here.I think it is called a Dynabatt. It doesn't need a special charger.

This is what I used to use;

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/brl-b2015/overview/

It worked OK when running class but was borderline during regular racing constantly starting and stopping in the staging lanes. Does not have much reserve capacity.

Need something with 600 or more cca and some reserve. When you get into the later rounds things start getting hairy. The expensive battery specs seems to have some staying power but really would like to get some input from someone that is using one.
