We are live from the track we loaded and drove down last night. My 70 Road Runner 440 6 pak B/S and The Two Ton Tamater J/SA 1970 Sport Sattelite wagon along with my younger 2 kids jr's. got to watch a lightening show as we rolled down but just a few sprinkles. It's warm and muggy already this morning. Time trials for the combo race start at 3 ill try and get some pics as people start rolling in. I'm hoping for 60 + stock/super stock cars |

60 plus would be super! Unfortunately, I could not make it because of a prior commitment. Midwest Class Racers does it right!

Re: Live from Midwest Class Racers at Thunder Valley
If they got 60 cars, that would explain why we had 4 today at the National Open at Rolling Thunder....I'm telling myself I was in the semi's at least!

Extremely warm muggy conditions in the Valley today. I still need someone to tell me how to post the pics off my phone! 39 cars I know of a few more coming for tommorow Ron Roddel #1 qualifier With his GT Grand Am Brad Van Lant #2 with his Duster. I was .0002 red first round my son just won in the 2nd round with the Tamater. More details later I still have 2 jr's in!ahh...!

Re: Live from Midwest Class Racers at Thunder Valley
WOW! 4 CARS I'M sorry but with the social media and this web site if that's all they can muster up THATS JUST STUPID!
Pull your head out and race where the people want to go!! We need desperately to fund our own program. Like MWCR We have value and people like what we do. We need exposure!! Plane and simple!! Look at Denver what a joke. If we don't stick together and support this deal it's going to be gone. Just sayin..... Quote:

Re: Live from Midwest Class Racers at Thunder Valley
You're right, Glen...I just wanted to try and support my local track, but they really didn't do anything to promote the Open. On a positive note, I got to run Jim Parsons 1st round, which was super cool for me even though the car didn't cooperate. Jim went on to win and got a really cool trophy and some cash. Congrats to Jim and thanks for making my first outing a memorable one! Thread hijack over, and I will see all of you at Cedar Falls Aug 10-11.

Re: Live from Midwest Class Racers at Thunder Valley
Sorry for poor updating but I been busy! My son 17 year oldTaylor McLaughlin WON the race tonite in his J/SA 1970 Sport Sattelite wagon 383 4 bbl "The Two Ton Tamater"! Raced #1 qualifier Ron Roddel in final Ron fresh off his victory in the semi finals over Brad Van Lant courtesy of his .000 light. The really fun intense race was our heads up in the qtrs. we had about a .2 performance deficit. We thru the kitchen sink at car... Jetted down, timing, cooled engine, iced intake, upped tire pressure, turned up 2 step. Car responded and picked up .15 surprised me but very gratifying as car owner/ mechanic/ crew chief! So... Congrats to my son! If u can't tell I'm pretty proud papa. Pics still coming!
